Reaching Home is a community focused program designed to prevent and reduce homelessness through the provision of funding and support directly to the Labrador Friendship Centre to administer through the Indigenous funding stream and the Rural and Remote funding stream. Reaching Home Indigenous NL and Reaching Home Rural and Remote provides essential support for Indigenous and non-Indigenous individuals and families who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. Homelessness affects many families throughout Canada according to the 2014 Canadian Observatory on Homeless it is estimated that an average of 235,000 people in our country experience a type of homelessness each year.
The Housing Support Navigator actively engages in several key activities aimed at providing housing and emergency support services, including food distribution, housing support, and the provision of emergency resources for individuals experiencing homelessness or who are at-risk of imminent homelessness.

Supporting unhoused or at-risk individuals
Advocating for housing support
Providing rental arrears, utility arrears, and other financial support to those who are at imminent risks of homelessness
Working with like-minded organizations and partners to provide services
