Talking Sticks Workshop
Barb Wood came by the NWR Community Centre to give a workshop on talking sticks. She explained the meaning of the talking stick, showed us one that she has been working on, and encouraged us to paint our own so that it would show who we are. About 15 youth came by to take in this fun activity, and they all had a great time.

Valentine's Dinner
The Labrador Youth Leaders partnered to host a Youth and Senior's Valentine's Dinner at CJAY. The kitchen and dining area were both decorated in pinks and reds, with balloons and valentines at each setting. We had about 20 youth and seniors attend the delicious dinner of roast beef, veggies, gravy, and pudding desserts. After our meal, we went to the circle room for a few cake walk games, and everyone had a great time.

Skiing at Birch Brook
It was a beautiful sunny Sunday afternoon when we went down to Birch Brook for a day of cross-country skiing. There were about 23 youth who came down to enjoy the weather and a meal of BBQ'd hot dogs. Overall, the day was a success and we look forward to doing it again next year.

Family Toboggan Party
The Labrador Youth Leaders hosted at family toboggan day at Johnny Hill as a part of SnoBreak 2009. It was a nice day, filled with people sliding and having fun.

Ice Fishing
On a nice afternoon during March Break, we went ice fishing at Wilburn Bay. We weren't there very long before we started catching a few smelts to fry up for supper. The ice was filled with people taking advantage of the sunny and warm temperatures. Suntanning, fishing, eating - what else are you supposed to do during March break? :)

Cain's Quest Closing Ceremonies
Our youth drumdancer group was asked to perform in Labrador City, so we hopped on a plane and went over for the weekend. The drumdancers, along with our wonderful volunteer, and Mandy and Andrea enjoyed a wonderful trip. The performance was an amazing experience and the drummers got TWO standing ovations! We were all very proud and hope to be back there next year.
