Seniors Van Service
The Labrador Friendship Centre, with assistance from Health Labrador Corporation, Ikajuttiget Board and Labrador Specialty Services Operates the senior's van service in Happy Valley - Goose Bay.
History
Historically, the transportation service for seniors began in 1970 after a request was made by Mr. Harvey Mesher to the Knights of Columbus. The Knights of Columbus responded with the generous donation of a Chevrolet Impala.
Eventually Mr. Mesher approached the Labrador Friendship Centre for help in the delivery of this service, and so it began that the Labrador Friendship Centre became the administrator of this community-driven project.
More recently the community at large has come together to raise funds to purchase a new vehicle, 2000 Ford Windstar van.
